AIR ASSIST FLARES

Air Assist FlaresAir assist flares are comprised of two risers (waste gas and air) and a blower system that provide supplemental combustion air. The blower provides air which optimally combines with process gas at the flare tip exit to induce turbulence in the waste gas stream. This improves mixing in the flame envelope and ultimately improves combustion efficiency. Air assisted flares generally dispose of heavier waste gases which have a greater tendency to smoke. They can also be employed at sites where steam may not be available as a smoke suppression medium.
